We are making last minute preparations for our passage from Walvis Bay to St Helena. Last thing that needs to happen is installing and connecting the tri/anchor light. As usual things don’t go as planned and this morning’s trip up the mast to install the tri light didn’t go as planned. I wanted to mount the new one onto the old one but the plastic of the old light was so brittle that it shattered when I tried to drill screws into it. We’ll connect the wiring today and try again tomorrow morning to mount it. Afternoon wind is too much to climb up the mast now.

So it looks like we’ll leave Friday morning which gives us today to finish up other small tasks on the boat and tomorrow to go into town to check out with customs and immigration and do last minute shopping.
