Dragging anchor… Kay’s version

Everything Dimi said in his post + we had to laugh afterwards when we talked about it. We are super efficient at jumping into action and taking the needed steps however sometimes there is a ‘communication breakdown’. That is we loose our shit. One of us will say something and the other will get hysterical, shouting and then the other shouts hysterically back. This is followed by some mumbling to ourselves and then it’s over. To someone observing on the outside it must be quite a show. And it gives us some comic relief after the fact. 😅😂

  1. In this case it was about which line to use to attach the fender to the anchor chain so we could retrieve our anchor later. It mattered less which line to use than that we had a way to find our anchor. So lesson learned: the captain does not always have to make every minute decision and trust his crew to follow his instructions the way they see fit.

    1. Truth be told I think it was because Dimi asked me for a paddle which I could not possibly comprehend why he needed that at this exact moment and I was a holding the fender to prevent banging into the cat… or was it… who knows 😂

      1. Oh, the oar/paddle was to try push us off the catamaran. But Kay was already holding off the boat by hand so wasn’t able to get the oar. Apart from not understanding what the point of it was. 😁
